In 1974 a powerful radio signal was sent into outer space, in order to contact life outside of our own planet. The signal consisted of a digital/pictorial format so that it could be interpreted as shown above, with binary codes for the numbers one through ten, elements of DNA,  the molecular structure of DNA, a silhouette of DNA & man, the current population count, and the location of Earth within our solar system.
